Bush Hogging in Gainesville, FL

If your field is waist-high in grass and weeds, bush hogging can bring it back under control. We cut open acreage, accessible paths and fence lines with a tractor-mounted rotary cutter.

A good fit for open ground that needs a heavy mow, rather than tree removal.

  • Cut tall grass, weeds and light brush up to about 1 inch.
  • Open accessible fields, paths and fence lines.
  • Leave a rough-cut finish, with roots and cuttings on-site.

How We Bush Hog a Property

We check for hidden wire, rocks, stumps, debris and soft ground before cutting. Then we use a tractor and rear-mounted rotary cutter in overlapping passes at an agreed height. The job leaves a manageable field finish, rather than a lawn-style cut.

Field Growth Around Gainesville

Open acreage around Alachua, Archer and Newberry can need regular grass and weed cutting. Thin woody regrowth may fit the cutter rating; thick palmetto clumps and established saplings usually need another method. Suspected cogongrass needs a control plan. A heavy mow alone will not eliminate its underground growth.

Land Clearing Questions,
Clear Answers.

Can a bush hog cut palmetto or young trees?

Our described bush-hogging scope is grass, weeds and light brush up to about 1 inch, within the actual cutter rating. Dense palmetto clumps, thicker saplings and established trees need assessment for another method.

Will invasive plants grow back after cutting?

They can. Gainesville-area concerns include cogongrass, Chinese tallow and coral ardisia. Removing the visible growth may leave living roots or seeds behind. We discuss follow-up needs; one mowing or mulching pass is not a promise of permanent control.

How long will the work take?

A light field cut may take a few hours. Dense brush, larger trees and hauling can take several days. Access, weather and ground conditions matter too. We give you a schedule after reviewing the property and the work.
