What Equipment We Use

Land Clearing Questions,
Clear Answers.

Do I need a permit before clearing my Gainesville property?

Check the actual address first. City of Gainesville and unincorporated Alachua County have different tree rules. Tree species, size, land use and existing approvals all matter. Tree permission also does not automatically approve grading or work in wetlands. We confirm the scope before equipment arrives.

Which service should I choose?

Bush hogging cuts grass, weeds and light brush. Forestry mulching shreds suitable woody growth and leaves mulch. Land clearing removes agreed trees and includes stump work or hauling where quoted. Tell us how you want to use the property and we can help you choose.

Can you keep the trees I like?

Yes. We mark the trees to keep before cutting and plan equipment routes around their roots. Live oaks and other retained trees need room around them, even when nearby brush is being removed. We also check for required protection barriers and clearing limits.

What happens to the brush and debris?

Bush-hogging cuttings and forestry mulch normally stay on the property. For clearing and tree removal, we agree on hauling, stump work and any material left on-site. Those details belong in your quote.

Will invasive plants grow back after cutting?

They can. Gainesville-area concerns include cogongrass, Chinese tallow and coral ardisia. Removing the visible growth may leave living roots or seeds behind. We discuss follow-up needs; one mowing or mulching pass is not a promise of permanent control.

How long will the work take?

A light field cut may take a few hours. Dense brush, larger trees and hauling can take several days. Access, weather and ground conditions matter too. We give you a schedule after reviewing the property and the work.

Can you work near wetlands or gopher tortoise burrows?

We check for sensitive areas before planning access. Wetlands, buffers and protected wildlife can affect where and when work is allowed. Marked limits and any required approvals come first. Soft ground may also mean waiting until equipment can travel without leaving deep ruts.

Does grading make the lot ready to build?

Rough grading shapes the agreed area. A foundation pad can also need designed elevations, suitable fill, compaction testing and inspections. We spell out the work included so your builder knows what still needs to happen.
